National Funeral Directors Association (Day Two) Virtual Event

Funeral Professionals Peer Support (Canada) Meeting 8:00pm AST

We’re pleased to welcome Michael Johnston, Regional Supervising Coroner for New Brunswick Coroner Services and Founder of Hope 4 Heroes as our guest for the Funeral Professionals Peer Support meeting scheduled from 8:00pm-9:00pm AST, Thursday, November 18, 2021. Michael’s post-traumatic stress disorder that eventually led him to leave a career as a paramedic, has led him to help others who may be exposed to trauma, no matter what sector they work in.  Meeting participants will learn about PTSD from a survivor’s perspective. Together, we’ll explore helpful mind-body practices and support services. All participants are encouraged to share within their own comfort level, to offer encouragement and support. Meeting link:https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83481387004?pwd=cVpScnFPUENNYU1oMkM0S3ZqcTBSdz09

Children’s Grief Awareness Symposium (Full Day Event)

This is a unique and exciting educational event that will help to build your capacity to support grieving children, youth and families in the communities you serve. There is an incredible line-up of speakers for this virtual event. Two of my favourite speakers are Christina Walton, funeral director and grief counsellor and Rami Shami. Christina’s session topic is Including Children and Teens in Funeral Planning and Celebration of Life Rituals.
